What is The Compass Partnership Bolton?
The Compass Partnership Bolton is a new Community Interest Company (CIC) that brings together Bolton Parent Carers and Bolton Information Advisory Service. Nan Cooper from Bolton Parent Carers and Cheryl Wyatt from Bolton IAS have created this new organisation to enable us to be able to combine our strengths, share resources, and create even more opportunities to support families in Bolton.
What does this mean for Bolton families?
The good news is that Bolton Parent Carers and Bolton IAS will continue to operate as individual organisations, each continuing the work we’re known for. But now, we also have this extra arm, The Compass Partnership Bolton, which acts as a combined platform to develop new initiatives, support and opportunities.
Why are we making this change?
This partnership is about making our voices stronger and creating more opportunities for families. By teaming up with Bolton IAS and forming The Compass Partnership Bolton, we can:
- Join forces to offer more tailored activities, training, and support.
- Share expertise and resources to make services more effective.
- Develop new projects that truly meet the needs of families.
- Ensure our collective voice is heard in local planning and decision-making.

For families, this is great news! It means more opportunities to get involved, more resources at your fingertips, and more ways to connect with others who understand your journey. You’ll still access services from Bolton Parent Carers just as before, but now with the added strength of a larger, more connected community.We believe this partnership will help us achieve even more for our children and young people with SEND and their families. It’s about creating a more inclusive, supportive, and thriving community here in Bolton.
