EHC Plan Workshop
The life of an EHC Plan
EHC Plan Workshop
The content of this workshop is appropriate for all ages of education. We cover nursery, school and college age.
Now that your child or young person now has an EHC Plan, what actually happens? We will discuss the Plan in some depth so you understand what is covered in all the sections. We cover the Annual Review process which is where changes may be made, which as a parent you should be fully included in. We also cover what happens as your child approaches adulthood and education options reduce. We will also discuss your routes of appeal if there is anything you don’t agree with regarding your child’s EHC Plan. You can even bring along your child’s EHC Plan and use it to follow the workshop.
Please note – this workshop is for those that have an EHC Plan, it does not cover how to apply for an assessment. If your child or young person does not have an EHC Plan, and you want to better understand the route to an EHC assessment, our SEN Support workshop is ideal.
What do we cover?
- What’s in each section and how did it get there.
- What does it mean on a day-to-day basis.
- The Annual Review Process.
- How the EHC Plan develops and is ammended over time.
- What can be changed in an EHC Plan.
- What happens when school and college ends.
- Routes of appeal should there be disagreements regarding the Plan.
Workshops
Everything we cover in the workshops is fully up to date with local processes in Bolton, and importantly follows SEND law.
Workshops are hosted by Nan Cooper from Bolton Parent Carers and Cheryl Wyatt from Bolton Information Advisory Service. Our workshops are run in small, informal groups, this allows time to ask questions. We encourage conversation and parents who have attended workshops tell us this makes the sessions even more beneficial.
Our workshops are held at The Bolton Hub which has car parking nearby, details of which can be found by clicking here
