Co-Production Toolkit

Co-Production with parents and carers is a theme is at the heart of the Children and Families Act 2014, and is very much at the heart of all the work of Bolton Parent Carers, as a parent carer forum.

One of the SEND Priorities for the Bolton area is Co-Production with parents, carers, children and young people. In fact, when services are being planned, commissioned or reviewed by the Local Authority, they must consult children with SEND, their parents, and young people with SEND.    

In order to make this process clearer for services, Bolton Parent Carers worked in Co-Production with a small working team to develop a co-production toolkit for our Bolton area. It was launched by Bernie Brown, Head of Children’s Services in September 2021.
