SEND Improvement Plan 2023

Following the SEND Review published in 2022, the Government published it’s SEND Improvement Plan in March 2023. The Plan also incorporated ‘alternative provisions’ into the scope of the upcoming focus for improvements.

SEND Review 2022

The government carried out a SEND review just before the covid pandemic. The response to the review, was finally published in 2022 in this document. An improvement plan for SEND will be published by March 2023.

SEND Code of Practice 2015

This is the guidance document that lays out how all educational settings, the local authority, the NHS and many others must comply with the Children’s & Families Act 2014.

New Local Area Ofsted 2023

From 2023, local areas in England will have a local area SEND inspection carried out jointly by Ofsted and the CQC using this new framework. This framework replaces the version that Bolton was inspected under in 2016.

SEND Code of Practice - for Parents

A much shorter, simplified, version of the SEND Code of Practice, at just 59 pages. This version was issued specifically for parents and carers.
